On 26th March, 2007 the Executive Director of CICA Mr. Jandos Asanov held a briefing for the representatives of the Embassies of the Conference accredited in Kazakhstan. Mr J. Asanov has briefed on the decisions taken as the result of the meetings of the Special Working Group (SWG) and Senior Officials Committee (SOC) of CICA, which took place in Bangkok from 12 to 14 March. The Executive Director also told about the meetings of the representative of the CICA Chairman and the CICA Secretariat’s top officials with the representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei. During the bilateral meetings the parties had an exchange of views on the future prospects of the Forum’s development as well as possible expansion of the list of CICA member countries.

The participants of the briefing also have been informed about the meetings of the CICA Executive Director with the Deputy Secretary General of ASEAN Ms. Soeung Rathchavy and ARF Unit Director Mr. M.C. Abad, during which the issues of cooperation between the two structures were discussed.
