CICA Specialized Meeting of Experts on CBMs in Human Dimension was held in Astana on June 27, 2007. The meeting was hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan and was attended by the representatives of fourteen Member States and the CICA Secretariat. H.E. Mr. Erzhan Zh. Babakumarov, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan chaired the meeting.

The Specialized Experts’ Meeting (SEM) discussed in detail the draft Concept for realization of the CICA CBMs Catalogue in Human Dimension and draft Action Plan for the implementation of the CICA Catalogue of CBMs in Human Dimension for the years 2008-09, prepared by the Republic of Kazakhstan, the coordinating country for CBMs in Human Dimensions.

After due deliberations, the participants in the SEM recommended that the draft Concept and the draft Action Plan be submitted to the SWG for further consideration and leave the decision to the SWG to either call for a second Specialized Experts Meeting or present the draft Concept and draft Action Plan to the SOC for final adoption. The participants also recommended that the Member States be encouraged to inform the Chairman of SEM on suitable programs in the Action Plan, they would be willing to coordinate.
