    Under the aegis of the VI Astana Economic Forum within the framework of ASTEX-2013 International Exhibition and Conference on 21May 2013 the CICA Secretariat held the Workshop entitled Info-communication Technologies – the Instrument of  Raising Competitiveness of the Economies of CICA Member States.
    During the Workshop was discussed a wide specter issues of developing information technologies as an integral part for increasing competitiveness of the national economies of Asian region. On a Workshop took part the Kazakhstani specialists and experts in information technologies, representatives from South Korea, Russia, India, Kyrgyzstan, Palestine, Mongolia, Turkey and Tajikistan, representatives from MFA and MTC of the RK, and also professor, students and teachers of College of Innovation Technologies.
    Mr. Alnur Jumanbekov, a Member of Professional Personnel of the CICA Secretariat welcomed the participants of the Workshop.
Then, Mr. Ruslan Esenbayev, Chairman of the Board of the JSC National Information Technologies spoke about the Kazakhstani experience of developing electronic government and Kazakhstani projects in this sphere. The reporter noted that the CICA Workshop which is being held first time within the framework of the ASTEX-2013 International Exhibition and Conference promotes the development of partner relations.
    The next speaker was H.E. Ambassador of India to RK, Mr. Ashok Kumar Sharma who spoke about the development of ICT in India. The representative of South Korea, as a country-coordinator of the CICA in the field of information technologies, Mr. Jeongwon Yoon, Executive Director of the National Agency of Korea on Informatization of the Society (NIA) told about the experience of developing ICT and electronic government in South Korea. Then, Mr. Kanat Mukanov, representative of the Ministry of Transport and Communication of Kyrgyzstan told about information legislation and legal support of the integrated information space in Kyrgyzstan. Mr. Timur Munchayev, a Member of Professional Personnel of the CICA Secretariat concluded the workshop with a report on the development of the programme of electronic government in RF. 
    Then the discussion on the development of ICT and their role in the development increasing competitiveness of the national economies of the CICA Member States took place. It was noted that CICA should become the ground for exchange of experience and knowledge between ICT specialists and experts for elaboration of confidence building measures in cyber space in Asia. 
    Following the results of the Workshop participants adopted Memorandum. It was proposed to the CICA Member States to elaborate the issue of establishing Specialize Group of experts in the sphere of elaboration and implementation of confidence building measures in cyber space.
