Regular meetings of the Special Working Group (SWG) and the Senior Officials Committee of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) were held in Suzhou, People’s Republic of China on 11-13 December 2013. The meetings were chaired by Ambassador Süphan Erkula, Chairman of CICA Task Force at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

        Member States discussed implementation of confidence building measures in different dimensions, including military-political dimension; establishment of CICA Business Council and CICA Youth Council; draft plan of action for implementation of United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy; amendment to the Rules of Procedure; and general issues relating to CICA including budget for the year 2014.

         The next meetings of the Special Working Group and Senior Officials Committee will be held in March 2014 in Bangkok, Kingdom of Thailand.
